Pro wrestling coming to town
DAVISON — Pure Pro Wrestling is hosting an event May 3 at Davison’s VFW Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Learn from the pros
DAVISON — The Davison Golf Academy will conduct its Junior Golf Program for children ages 8-16. The six-week program will be Fridays from 8 a.m.-noon starting June 20 and ending with the Junior Club Championship Aug. 22. The program is limited to 100 juniors, both members and non-members.
Golfers will be taught by PGA professionals and the program includes classroom time to learn rules and etiquette, skills competitions, lunch and prizes.

Flint Jr. Golf deadline looms
BURTON — The May 16 registration deadline is approaching for Flint Junior Golf’s 2008 season. Play begins June 16 at several area courses.
A total of 24 courses will be hosting play on Mondays. The five- and nine-hole play ends July 21 and 22 with 18-hole ending July 28.
Fees are $50 for five-hole (ages 8-11), $60 for nine-hole (ages 12-14 for boys, 12-15 for girls) and $85 for all others interested in playing 18 holes. Included in the entry fee is up to eight clinics during the preseason. Participants can also attend the Buick Open Clinic June 24 at Warwick Hills. Golden Gloves Tournament
GRAND RAPIDS — DeVos Place, 303 Monroe Ave. NW will host the 2008 National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions starting May 5.
The Michigan Golden Gloves Association hosts the annual event, which brings together the best in amateur boxing in America.
Winners from the regional competitions — all non-professional boxers ages 16 and over — compete in the nationals, which determine the top boxers across 11 weight classes. Past winners include Muhammad Ali, Oscar de la Hoya, George Foreman, Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones, Jr. and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Youth hockey hosts golf outing
LAPEER — The Lapeer County Hockey Association will kick-off its seventh annual golf outing May 17 at Sugarbush Golf Club. The four-person scramble-style event begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Second time around
GENESEE COUNTY — The second annual co-ed spring T-ball instructional league is being offered by the Genesee Fieldhouse from May 6 to June 17. Players can request to be on the same team as friends. Games take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays.
