RICHFIELD TWP. — Richfield Township Clerk Lisa Holmes will not see a pay increase before she leaves office in November. The request was denied by residents at the township’s annual meeting June 15.

The annual meeting is the only meeting where the residents have the ability to vote.

Holmes and Supervisor Jim Jacques were the only members of the board who had earlier requested 5-percent pay increases. If approved, the increase would have added $2,331.26 to Holmes’ current salary of $34,277.66. Jacques’ pay would have increased from $36,144 to $37,952.

Neither Holmes nor Jacques are running for re-election, so their successors would also have been paid the higher figures.

Treasurer Joyce Schneider and Trustees Dennis Montague and Jerry Masters did not request pay increases.

Jacques requested the residents not grant resolution 08-08 supervisor salary. “I’m going to ask to not grant this salary increase and leave the supervisor’s salary for the next year at the current rate,” he said.

The residents approved Jacques’ request, with resident Bob Guth voting no.
