DAVISON TWP. — The owner of Stonegate Party Store may face a fine, or possibly lose their liquor license, after attempting to sell alcohol to a 20-year-old decoy without checking identification.

Davison Township Police Chief Larry Hrinik said the sting took place Saturday evening. A total of six establishments were visited. Stonegate was the only location where the clerk didn’t ask for the identification. The clerk was given a fine that evening.

Hrinik said the Liquor Control Commission will make the determination on whether to fine the owner or take the license away.

“We ask all our business owners who sell alcohol to remember to check identification when selling alcohol,” he said.
