Slezak named May
co-op student
DAVISON — Davison State Bank recently named Davison High School senior Matt Slezak as the bank’s May Co-op Student of the Month. The Photo Factory in Davison, where Slezak works, also was named as Co-op Partners of the Month for May.
As a digital photo technician, Slezak handles customer orders, produces photo ID cards, prints digital pictures, inputs client data and assists at photo shoots. He was nominated by owner/manager Marilyn Slezak. “Matt gets along well with other employees, is helpful and courteous to customers and is not afraid to ask for help,” she said. “Matt has a passion for whatever he decides to do, and he always comes to work happy and upbeat.”
Davison State Bank honors students and their employers monthly for their commitment to the co-op program. Each monthly nominee is eligible for a $500 scholarship awarded in June. — N.B.

preparation
DAVISON — Davison Community Enrichment and Recreation is offering a senior vitality food preparation course 6:30-8 p.m. June 2 and 7 at the Davison-Richfield Senior Citizen Activity Center, 10135 Lapeer Rd.
Instructor Randy Beardslee will discuss the importance of diet and specific foods that contain natural ingredients that protect against aging.
The cost of the event is $25 per couple or $15 for an individual, $12.50 for a senior citizen couple and $7.50 for an individual senior citizen.

Learn auto body repair
DAVISON — Individuals interested in the basics of auto body can take an Auto Body Basics course 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays until May 29.
Scott McConnell, owner of Superior Paint and Bodyworks, will instruct students on how to repair dents, dings and sheet metal. Cost for the class is $270 for six sessions.

grief support
DAVISON — Visiting Nurse Services of Michigan (VNSM) hospice program provides ongoing grief support groups through New Tomorrows.
The group meets 5-7 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Davison-Richfield Senior Citizen Activity Center, 10135 Lapeer Rd. The group is open to anyone in Genesee County.

RICHFIELD TWP. — The North Central Region National Model Railroad Association’s Division 10 is seeking model railroaders from Genesee, Shiawassee, Lapeer and Tuscola counties.
