DAVISON TWP. — The Davison 4-H Livestock Club will host a car wash May 17 to raise money for Davison’s Relay For Life.

Eighth annual ‘Bikin’ For Burns’ event.
GENESEE COUNTY — The eighth annual “Bikin’ For Burns” motorcycle event begins at 10 a.m. May 10 at the Perani Event Center, 3501 Lapeer Rd. The parade will depart at noon.
The route will head east on Lapeer Road; north on Irish Road; west on Richfield Road; north on Genesee Road; west on Mt. Morris Road; north on Clio Road; west on Dodge Road; north on Jennings Road; and left on Wilson Road to Shriner’s Circus Park. Senior Power Day
FLINT — Area seniors will descend upon Crossroads Village for the annual Senior Power Day 9 a.m.-2 p.m. May 21.

State Bank names April co-op student
DAVISON — Davison State Bank recently named Davison High School student Kara Gilbert as its April Co-op Student of the Month.
Gilbert works as a sales associate at Tropi-Tan Davison Crossings; the business was named the Co-op Partners of the Month for April. As a sales associate, Gilbert maintains product inventory, promotes memberships and operates the computerized scheduling system.
She was nominated by assistant manager Katie Schroeck who said “Kara has put in over 1,000 hours of hard work and dedication. She is always on time and our customers enjoy her bubbly attitude.” — N.B.
Budget planning session
DAVISON — The Davison City Council will hold a budget planning session at 6:30 p.m. May 19 at City Hall.
The council also has rescheduled its June meeting for June 2. The meeting was originally scheduled for June 9, but three council members and additional city officials will be in Atlanta, Georgia to accept a national award for the municipal water system. — N.B.
DHS takes second in recycling competition
DAVISON — Davison High School recently took second place in the county-wide recycling competition, recycling 11,200 pounds. The school won $100 and two recycling bins.
The winners were announced at the Mott Community College Earth Day and Garden Celebration April 19. Over three months, 22 schools collected 97,112 pounds of recyclables.
The first place winner was Whittier Classical Academy with 16,922 pounds and St. Pius X Catholic School with 9,536 pounds. — N.B.
