SOS online renewal program
GENESEE COUNTY — The Department of State’s online renewal program for vehicle and watercraft license plate registrations has helped residents easily renew license plates for ten years now.
The number of online renewals has grown each year since it was first recorded in 1998. “The number of online renewals is soaring as more customers learn of this convenient option,” said Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land.
Residents can renew their plates online by entering the PIN number from the renewal notice and the number of their valid VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit card. They will then receive their license plate tab and registration by mail.
“Renewals only take a minute or two over the internet and let you skip the trip to a branch office,” Land said.
