Bernice “Penny” Schneider, 82, of Davison went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, May 19, 2008.

Penny was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 19, 1925, one of twin daughters of the late Charles and Florence (Thompson) Smith. Penny married Wilbur Schneider and they resided in the Baltimore area where she worked as a telephone operator. Penny recently moved to the Davison area where she quickly made many good friends. She attended St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and the Davison Senior Center.

Penny is survived by her daughter, Robin (James) Meehan; grandchildren, Corey (Ashley) Meehan and Shannon Meehan; 2 great-grandchildren and nephew, Charles (Rita) Zimmerman.
She was preceded in death by her husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, National Veterans Services Fund, Inc. or the Humane Society.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 8192 Davison Rd., Davison, Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. There will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Wanda L. Yoder, 80, of Davison, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Genesys Convalescent Center.

Wanda was born in Advance, MO. on May 5, 1928, daughter of the late Otis and Katie (Moreland) Hawkins. She resided in the Davison area most of her life. Wanda married Floyd R. Yoder on August 6, 1949, who preceded her in death on November 9, 2003. She retired from GM.

Wanda is survived by children, Linda (David) Dell of Sparks NV, Kathy Peck of Clio and Terry (Steve) Quackenbush of Grand Blanc; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Hawkins; brother, Arnold (Esther) Hawkins; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by son, Ken; sister, Pauline Grice, and brothers, Jim, Calvin, Edward and Willard.

A Funeral Service was held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison, Chaplain Adam Doyle officiated. Burial was in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery.
