About The Davison Index
Since 1889, The Davison Index has been the weekly hometown community newspaper for Davison, Michigan.

The newspaper covers local government, schools, sports and community events, and provides many feature stories about local people who make the community a great place to live and work.

The Davison Index is published each Wednesday, with this Web site (officially launched in September 2006) updated as soon as possible after the newspaper is published. The coverage area includes the city of Davison, Davison Township, Richfield Township and Davison Community Schools.

The Davison Index is owned and operated by Jim Sherman Jr., who purchased the newspaper in 1980 and has kept the newspaper office in downtown Davison.

The Davison Index is a member of the Davison Area Chamber of Commerce, the Michigan Press Association and the National Newspaper Association.
