The Davison Index welcomes local news items, including but not limited to:

-- Milestones (births, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, "Five Generations." We have easy to complete forms for each of these items. Pick them up at the Index office (220 N. Main St. in downtown Davison) or request one via e-mail to davisonindex@yahoo.com.

-- "Around Town" (announcements of community non-profit activities). Send all the important details such as time, date, place, cost and contact telephone number. Don't skip on details; we would rather have too much than not enough.

-- "Achievements" including awards, promotions or other special honors (Note: Generally speaking, we receive notice of college graduations and dean's lists from the colleges. Call us with any questions.)

-- Feature stories: Although we are limited by a two-person news staff, we are always looking for interesting people and activities in the Davison area. If you have a suggestion, providing as much background information as possible will be a great help.

-- Photos: We welcome color images via e-mail (sent as separate .jpg attachments, please) or hard prints at least 3 x 5 or larger. When taking photos, be sure to get close, and be sure faces are clearly visible.

DEADLINES: All submissions must be in no later than noon Friday to be considered for the following Wednesday's newspaper. Exceptions are Letters To The Editor and prearranged submissions for weekend activities (then the deadline is noon Monday
