Red Cross to honor ‘Everyday Heroes’ May 16

GRAND BLANC — The American Red Cross Genesee-Lapeer Chapter’s 12th annual “Salute to Everyday Heroes” is at 5:30 p.m. May 16 at the Captain’s Club of Woodfield.

This year, the chapter will honor 11 individuals in the following categories:

• Youth Good Samaritan: Paul Cunningham, Jr.
• Law Enforcement Everyday Heroes: Officer Wes Evans of the Grand Blanc Township Police and Registered Nurse Nancy Arellano from Genesys Regional Medical Center
• Emergency Medical Response Everyday Hero: Candy Allen of the Lapeer County Central Dispatch
• Adult Good Samaritans: Jennifer Smith, Bobby Taylor, Jesse Gonzalez and Jennifer Locke of Genesee Count Parks & Recreation
• Workplace Good Samaritans: Chris Clolinger and Gary Parr of the University of Michigan-Flint Recreation Center.
• Community Good Samaritan: Thomas Landaal of Landaal Packaging.
