FLINT — Mott Community College (MCC) is working to ensure that school science laboratories throughout the area are a little safer.
The college’s science and math division hosts a seminar designed to prevent laboratory mishaps by instructing science teachers on science lab safety. The Laboratory Safety Institute’s 24-hour Lab Safety Short Course runs Aug. 26-29 at MCC.
Teachers who participate in the course will learn the fundamentals of lab safety, how to avoid hazards, accidents and injuries and how to develop and improve their own lab safety programs in compliance with OSHA Lab Standards.
Registration fee for the course is $695 for one person, although an early bird registration fee of $625 is available now. Discounted fees for more than one participant are also available. For two to four participants, the fee is $620 per person, for five to nine. the price is $550 per person, and for ten or more participants, the fee per person is $475. Cost for Mott employees is $475.
