Texas Hold ‘Em
DAVISON TWP. — American Legion Post 267 will host a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament May 30 at the Davison VFW Post 4087 at 9474 Lapeer Rd. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the tournament starts at 7 p.m. Entry fee is $30 for $1,500 in poker chips.
Advance registration can be done at the VFW Clubroom or call 810-658-9069. All seven players at the final table will receive prize money, with the payout amount depending on the number of entries. Music competition
finalists come to FIM
FLINT — The Davanti Trio has been selected as finalists in the 2008 International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition.
The Davanti Trio is made up of Flint School of Performing Arts faculty members, including Jessica Price on flute, Bart Rotberg on violin and Ina Yoon on piano. The ensemble was formed in fall of 2007.
On May 22, the trio will compete at Boston University College of Fine Arts.
First-prize winners are given the chance to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York on May 26.
Their first Flint Institute of Music performance will take place in the MacArthur Recital Hall 7 p.m. June 6. A reception will follow.
