Model railroads and members needed
RICHFIELD TWP. — Division 10 of the North Central Region of the National Model Railroad Association need model railroads from Genesee, Shiawassee, Lapeer and Tuscola counties 7:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month.

Crim spirit squad
FLINT — The Flint Children’s Museum offers its Spirit Squad members a bleacher seat for those who wish to cheer on family members and friends running in the Crim race Aug. 23.
The museum bills the bleachers as the perfect view for mile #3. The $5 admission charge includes a continental breakfast, guaranteed parking, and admission to the museum for the entire day. Families are encouraged to bring signs and make shakers at the museum to cheer on their runner. The Spirit Squad opens at 7 a.m. on the day of the race. Space is limited.

GM car exhibition
FLINT — In honor of the 100th anniversary of General Motors and Buick, the Flint Institute of Arts is hosting a special exhibition featuring a collection of art inspired by Flint area landmarks and representing Flint’s long history in the automotive industry.
Featured artists include John McCormick, Carol Brenner, Ron Stolpin, Ken Taylor and the late James Anthony.

Million Dollar golf classic
GRAND BLANC — The 9th Annual 103.9 the Fox/Old Newsboys Million Dollar Golf Classic is Aug. 11 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The four-person scramble includes both silent and live auctions, as well as play time on the Flint Elks Golf Club, an exclusive private course located at 7177 E. Maple Ave.
The cost is $125 per person and registrations are accepted until July 31. The fee covers continental breakfast, lunch, dinner, free driving range at 8 a.m. and eighteen holes of golf. Proceeds benefit the Old Newsboys Christmas Program and School Program.

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie performance
ROCHESTER — Etico Productions presents the family-favorite show “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” July 31 at the Meadow Brook Music Festival.
The play is directed by award winning director John M. Manfredi and is adapted from the children’s book by Laura Joffe Numeroff. The performance marks the Michigan debut of the show, and tells the story of a little boy who has his day interrupted by a demanding mouse. The production stars acclaimed actors Jason Richards as the boy and Sara Catheryn Wolf as the mouse.

Club 55 bowling
GENESEE COUNTY — Club 55 bowling for adults ages 55 and up is offered Aug. 11-15 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. each day at a variety of lanes.
During the week, adults over the age of 55 can bowl for free. On Aug. 12 and 13, grandchildren can bowl for free as well. Coaches are on-site to offer assistance and tips. All lanes are smoke-free during Club 55 and no membership is required.
Club 55 is offered at B’s Bowling Center on Center Rd. in Flint, Clio Bowling Arcade on W. Vienna Rd. in Clio, Colonial Lanes on W. Pierson Rd. in Flushing, Holly Lanes on Grange Hall Rd. in Fenton, Nightingale Lanes on Davison Rd. in Burton, Richfield Bowl on Richfield Rd. in Flint, Town & Country Lanes on Miller Rd. in Flint, and Rollaway Lanes on Main Street South in Davison.

Greater Flint Arts Council ArtWalk
FLINT — The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Greater Flint Arts Council ArtWalk 6-9 p.m. Aug. 8.
The ArtWalk is a series of exhibits in several locations in downtown Flint, and is free to the public. The chamber is looking for submissions to hang in the first floor of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s new office building on the corner of First and Saginaw Streets. There is room for about 25-30 pieces of art or photography. Pieces must not exceed 18x24. Owners will hang items beginning at 3 p.m. on Aug. 8 and items must be removed by 9 p.m.
