Andrea Stepp of Davison has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2007 semester at Davenport University.
To achieve the Dean’s List, a student must maintain a minimum 3.5 grade point average while enrolled in at least nine credits of regular coursework.
Davenport University, the only West Michigan-based private university specializing in business, technology and health professions, serves some 12,000 students.
Some 713 students completed requirements for certificates and degrees at Ferris State University, Kendall College of Art and Design and the College of Professional and Technological Studies during the semester which ended in December 2007.
Those from the Davison area included Richard Goyette, Associate in Applied Science in building construction technology; Justin McNab, Associate in Applied Science in plastics technology; Theodore Miller, Bachelor of Science in surveying engineering; Breanna Pyles, Bachelor of Science in applied biology; Ryan Swain, Bachelor of Science (summa cum laude) in criminal justice; and Audrey Thwing, Bachelor of Science in Business in accountancy.
Students graduated with honors were recognized based on grade point averages on a 4.0 scale. "Summa cum laude" honors went to those with GPAs between 3.9 to 4.0.
Ferris State University and Kendall College of Art and Design have announced their Dean’s List for the semester which ended in December 2007.
Those from the Davison area include Jeffrey Gardner, Brandy Jackson, Christine Joseph, Halley Klassen, Yasmine Ladha, Meghan Lane, Kathryn Radeback, Kennedy Ryan, Kimberly Sams, Debbie Sommer, Ryan Swain, Kari Vavra, Kevin Walsh and Brooke Wendt.
To be eligible for academic honors, undergraduate students must have accumulated at least a 3.5 GPA in no fewer than 12 credit hours of coursework at the 100 level or higher during the given semester, while part-time students must have accumulated at least 12 credit hours of graded coursework at the 100 level or higher with a 3.5 semester GPA and a 3.3 cumulative GPA.
Kendra Metcalf recently pledged Phi Mu women’s fraternity at Albion College.
Phi Mu has been a member of the Albion College Greek system since 1990. Their philanthropies are Children’s Miracle Network, Project HOPE and the Phi Mu Foundation.
Metcalf is a first-year student at Albion College and is a member of the Ford Institute for Public Policy and Service. She is the daughter of James and Colette Metcalf of Davison and a graduate of Davison High School.
