Two Davison area students will present projects at the 42nd Conference on Senior Engineering Design Projects at Western Michigan University on Tuesday, April 15.

Nicholas Peariso will present a redesign of a patient lift system. A 2002 Davison High School graduate, he is the son of James and Kay Peariso of Davison Township and plans to receive a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering in April 2008.

Andrew Hyder will present design enhancements to a hand-powered cycle. A 2004 graduate of Goodrich High School, he is the son of Charles and Sheryl Hyder of Davison Township and plans to receive a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

The conference, which will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., will be at the Parkview Campus. It is open free of charge and sponsored by WMU’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

A total of 194 seniors will present the results of 72 projects to help solve problems facing business and industry.

 

 

Central Michigan University has announced graduates from December 2007.

Those from the Davison area include Cynthia Panchula, Bachelor of Science in Education; Jeffrey Robinson, Bachelor of Applied Arts; Samantha Shipman, Bachelor of Science in Education; and Jared Whitman, Bachelor of Science in Education.

 

Sara Johnson of Davison is among students named to the Dean’s List for the 2007 fall semester at Bethel College, Mishawaka, Ind.

Eligibility for the Dean’s List requires a 3.5 grade point average with 12 or more semester hours.

Bethel College is an accredited Christian college of the arts and sciences offering associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in more than 50 areas of study.

 

Rich Molina of Davison earned a Certificate of Achievement in Practical Nursing from Mott Community College with honors.

He expects to be graduated with a registered nursing degree in December of this year.

 

Rachel M. Walczak, a senior from Davison, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall term at Northwood University. She is the daughter of Ronald and Margaret Walczak of Davison.

To achieve Dean’s List recognition, students must earn at least a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
